Ramakrishna Ashrama, Gwalior was estabilished in the year 1960. The institution was registered under societies Registration Act. 1959. Aims and Objectives of the institution is to work on the noble ideas of Ramakrishna Math and Mission to disseminate among the public the universal principles of Vedanta and practical spirituality irrespective of caste, colour, creed and sect.

In the year 1989-90 the Ramakrishna Ashrama initiated a major project "Sarada Balgram" for giving shelter to 500 orphan, destitute vagrant, abandoned and child in need of care. These children will be provided free food, clothing, education, physical and moral training, pre vocational and vocational training, vocational guidance culture know how and citizenship education, so that they can estabilish themselves in the society as a good Indian citizen.
